Bridge Scour and Bank Protection
A number of bridge crossings over watercourses in the UK have been found to be affected by scour and erosion of the river banks, which can seriously impact the integrity and longevity of the structure. Rivers and Coastal Ltd therefore provides consultancy support for the design of scour protection to bridge piers and abutments, within watercourses.
We also design bank protection and all other structures within the watercourse and riparian zone. For both the above we would conduct investigations, surveys, technical assessment of the processes that have caused the structure to become undercut or damaged by erosion, assessment of engineering options, detailed design of remedial and scour protection works.
